These things drain your phone’s battery the most

Does your phone battery not seem to last long enough? Before you decide to replace it, read the tricks to extend its life.

Your battery draining too quickly could be because you have too many apps running, making your phone unnecessarily busy.

With these tricks, you will not only extend the life of the battery, but also its life.

Leaving apps running when you’re not using them drains your phone’s battery the fastest. You just need to get into the habit of turning off the app when you’re not using it or at least for a while.

Automatic lock and light

The phone consumes battery almost all the time, but much less if you set the screen to lock automatically as soon as you put it down. Otherwise, it will only drain the battery faster and more, so you will have to charge your phone (if you didn’t even listen to the advice about apps) almost every day and at least once.

Reduce the brightness on your phone and only use it brightly when you need to illuminate something, to use your phone as a flashlight. Also, type less unnecessarily on your phone and don’t check the time if you have a watch on your wrist.

Bluetooth

The rule for any phone is to turn off bluetooth when you are not using it. In this way, you not only save battery, but also protect your phone from hackers who can “break into” your phone via bluetooth and steal information in this way (if they are nearby).

Charge

One of the most common mistakes we make is leaving the phone on the charger for too long unnecessarily. And yes, you thought wrong – you won’t charge your phone better that way. The longer you leave your phone on the charger after it’s charged, the worse it is for it. In this case, the phone becomes somehow dependent on constant charging, so the battery will “leak” faster.

Sounds and buttons

If you’re playing games on your phone, be sure to turn off the sound – that way you’ll use up a lot less battery power. It’s similar with the buttons – turn off the button sounds, but also the button lighting – if you don’t need it.

Turn off the phone when not in use. Also, if you see that your battery is running low, and you might need the phone, turn it off, then turn it on only when you need to make that emergency call.

Manual update

Some phones, like IOS 7, can automatically update your applications whenever they “catch” WiFi. This consumes a lot of battery. Therefore, turn off automatic applications and switch to “manual update”.

Turn off WiFi (and bluetooth) when you go outside and when you are not using them. The same applies to applications that you do not use. You can also delete some of them from your phone if you don’t need them. Do not use dynamic wallpapers, because they draw much more energy than regular ones.
